The Rwandan Community in Russia & Belarus
The Rwandan community in the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus is predominantly composed of students, the majority of whom are enrolled in undergraduate, master's, and PhD programs at esteemed universities in both countries. Upon completing their studies, many graduates return to Rwanda, where they contribute to the development of both the public and private sectors
As of now, more than 250 members of the Rwandan diaspora are registered with the Embassy in the Russian Federation. This community is dispersed across various cities, including Moscow, St. Petersburg, Obninsk, Voronezh, Nizhny Novgorod, Kazan, Krasnodar, Tomsk, and Kemerovo, as well as in the Republic of Belarus.
The diaspora actively engages in national events organized by the Embassy, including Heroes’ Day, Kwibuka, Liberation Day, Independence Day, Umuganura, and others.
